Building the Hover Deck

I always thought a hovercraft skirt was like any girls skirt: a piece of fabric that hangs down to the ground all the way around the deck... So thats what I tried first to get me floating. That bombed, so next up on the drawing board was making a sort of air pillow as shown by the shovercraft dudes. So I bought a big piece of waterproof tent material and did some sewing. Now it works perfectly well - on pavement.

Here's the deck, its really just a big piece of plywood...
